Department Paediatrics
Our Department of Medicine at CPTH constitutes an essential integral part of our Health and Education delivery system. It provides state of the art services in the areas of Internal Medicine and its allied specialities. Our mission is an inspiring interest in the prevention of disease and promotion of human health, to cultivate the habit of seeking new frontiers and to educate tomorrow’s leaders in internal medicine. Our Department consists of two units, run by highly qualified and trained staff to provide round the clock patient care in the best possible manner. It is supported by much needed diagnostic facilities and specialized care provided by our sub-specialties in Gastroenterology, Nephrology. Cardiology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Rheumatology and Critical care. Our staff places honesty, compassion and genuine enthusiasm for learning and sharing medical knowledge at the heart of our dedicated care. While teaching and training our students and post graduate trainees, we place a great emphasis on bedside teaching which helps to develop a close patient- doctor relationship. Our Multidisciplinary ward rounds and teaching methods provide exposure to wide array of modern medical knowledge.

The Department of Pediatrics was established at Central Park Teaching Hospital in 2012. Since then the department is continuously striving for excellence in improving health of children by providing high quality patient care, education and research. The department is recognized by PMC and CPSP for house job and fellowship program respectively. The faculty and staff of Pediatric department have well-deserved reputation for outstanding clinical care and dedicated teaching of undergraduate and post graduate students. The department aims to help trainees to achieve clinical patients communication knowledge, skills and attitude needed to provide health care services to children of all ages. At present our Central Park Teaching Hospital have state of the art neonatal units with facilities of mechanical ventilators. Community health services in the form of screening of local school children and to the poor surrounding locality are provided in the form of weekly camps. Lectures are delivered to doctors on common pediatric health problems of rural and basic health unit of District Kasur. We are continually integrating the latest medical technology and facilities into the hospital to enable us to provide the best care available, undertake clinical research and prepare the next generation of leaders in child health.
